One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. As you can see this little old bookcase went through a wonderful transformation too. If you also have such a bookshelf then you can turn it into a practical island for your kitchen. To start with you have to remove the board at the back of the bookcase. Then sand it and give it a fresh coat of paint. Now if you want you can be a little more creative and add a shiplap look to the sides. For that just cut slabs of a wood board and then install them at the sides. Do a final coat of paint and voila! For making the work surface on top you can either stain a wood board or even use a butcher’s block in a suitable size. Happy decorating!
